CONFECTIONERY BUYING;
To discuss the formation of a group to buy confectionery and thus secure the new trade discounts now allowed by manufacturers a meeting ,of local fruiterers and confectioners was held last evening in Messrs Alacfarlane and Company’s auction rooms. Mr L. Daniel, president of the Christchurch Fruiterers’ Association, presided over a large attendance. The chairman, and Messrs E. Eldridge and R. Ililder explained the business of the meeting, and after discussion Alessrs Eldridge. Hilder and W. Gibson, were appointed a committee to make further arrangements, and report to a later meeting.
