Ashburton Power Board Revenue. (Special to the “ Star.”) ASHBURTON, November 20. The monthly meeting of the Ashburton Electric Power Board was held today; present, Messrs E. F. Nicoll (chairman), J. W. M. Dart, W. H. Bundle, E. J. Crothers. H. C. Barton, W. Bryant, R. J. Milligan, J. Lambie, W. G. Gallagher, J. Carr am? W. H. Woods. The financial statement showed that the revenue for the month of October amounted to £2797 4s, an increase of. £52 5s 2d compared with the same month last year. The revenue for the seven months showed an increase of £519 12s compared with the same period in 1932. Interest on Loans. The difference in the amount of interest paid on renewal Joans compared with loan money domiciled in Melbourne was referred to by Mr Gallagher. The former was 4£ per cent compared with 53 per cent in the case of the Victoria loans. The chairman stated that £05,000 had been raised in Melbourne and the power authorities liacf been given to understand that the Treasury Department was endeavouring to arrange a reciprocation. It was agreed to urge the Minister of Internal Affairs to go as far as possible with a view to securing a greater degree of reciprocity in interest rates. Engineers’ Reports. The engineer-secretary (Mr H. C. Kemp) reported that pole replacement work had been carried out in scattered areas including Lagmhor 25 poles, Winch more 16, Seafleld 14. J-lighbank 11, Ashburton Forks 6, Winslow and Ashburton 5 each. Mitcham 3. The southerly storm on October 30 lmd brought down 7 poles. The running engineer (Mr A. T. Saunders) reported that 496,583.3 units had been supplied from Rake Coleridge and 12.97.8 by the stand-by plant. There had been a heavy demand for water for the borough high pressure supply, but no difficulty had been experienced in coping with it. The inspector (Mr VV. G.
