WAIMAIRI SURF CLUB.

The adjourned annual meeting of the Waimairi Beach Surf Life Saving Club was held in the pavilion. Mr W. Alexander presiding. The annual report stated that an efficient team had been in attendance to control the beach each week-end. but the season had passed without a serious call. The performances of the teams in inter-club competitions had shown a marked improvement, and reflected great credit on the instructor. Considerable improvement had been made to the surroundings of the pavilion, and a sun-bathing area had been enclosed. The club’s connection with the Waimairi Beach Golf Club was proving of great assistance. The balance-sheet showed receipts £65 7s 6d and expenditure £62 16s 4d. The assets were shown as £376 9s, and there was an excess of assets over liabilities of £7O 12s 7d. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. It was decided to open the club’s season on November 26. The following delegates were elected: Canterbury Surf Association, Messrs R. Round and J. A. Wilson; Royal Life Saving Society. Mr A. A. Ironside.
