Lady Bledisloe left Christchurch yesterday for Ashburton, where she will be the guest of Mr and Mrs J. H. Grigg. Longbeach. She will return to Christchurch on Saturday morning. Lord Bledisloe went cn to Dunedin and will rejoin her Excellency at Longbeach on Thursday. Mrs S. Woods, Christchurch, is visiting Mrs J. Hanna, Southbridge.

Mr and Mrs A. Shirtcliff (Timaru) are guests at Warner’s Hotel. Mrs R. Williams, Waterton, Ashburton, is visiting relatives at Southbridge. Mrs J. Waters, Blenheim, is visiting Christchurch. Mrs G. A. Hart, Timaru, is visiting Christchurch. Mr and Mrs H. S. E. Turner, Latimer Square, who were staying in Timaru, are now at the Rakaia Fishing Huts. Mr and Mrs A. F. Lucas, Blenheim, have returned from a visit to Christchurch. Miss Jean Pickering returned from Sydney last week, and intends residing in Christchurch. Miss Betty Murray, Clarence Bridge, has returned home from a visit to Christchurch. Mr and Mrs Arthur Baker, Feilding, have arrived in Christchurch after visiting Blenheim. Mrs W. W. Chisholm, Muller Road, has returned from a visit to Christchurch . Mrs A. C. Nathan, Eitham Lodge, Blenheim, is visiting her sister, Mrs S. Jameson, Fendalton. Mrs C. H. Lawrence, Fendalton, is visiting her mother in Palmerston j North. Miss Mary Ormandy, St Albans, is the guest of Miss C_. Steans, Little River. Mrs Noel Roake, Fendalton, has returned from a visit to her mother, Mrs Newbegin, in Hastings. Miss Eileen Carney, Rakaia, who has been spending a holiday in Christchurch, returned home yesterday. Professor and Mrs R. J. Bell (Dunedin) are visiting Christchurch and are staying at the Hotel Federal. Mrs Neville LeCren has returned to Christchurch after spending the weekend with Mrs F. G. M. Raymond, ; Timaru. Mrs Cyril White, Naseby Street, returned to Christchurch this morning from the North Island, where she has been spending a holiday. Mr and Mrs Herbert Elworthy, “ Craigmore,” left last evening for Hawke’s Bay to visit their daughter, Mrs A. P. White. Misses A and M. Newton, Onslow Street, have returned home from a visit to Mrs J. L. Macfarlane, “ Lywdon,” Waiau. Miss Bromley Cocks, Ranfurly Street, has returned from Dunedin, where she attended the Girl Guide Commissioners’ conference. Mrs H. G. Livingstone, Riccarton Road, who attended the conference of the Girl Guides’ Commissioners in Dunedin, returned home last evening. Miss Jose Morrow, who has been the guest of Mr and Mrs S. Le Compte, Cooptown, Little River, has returned to Christchurch. Mrs A. H. Roberts, Gleniffer, Geraldine, who is the guest of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr and Mrs A. E. Kincaid, Clovelly. Fendalton, will return home at the end of this week. Mrs Pat Barker, Hawke’s Bay, who has been spending a holiday with her sister, Mrs F. A. Brittan, Avonside, will return north to-morrow. She will be accompanied by Mrs Frank Robinson, Springfield.
