The Misses Fell, Nelson, will arrive in Christchurch to-day and will stay at Warwick House. Mr and Mrs F. G. Hill, Glenarlie, Whitecliffs, are visiting their daughter, Mrs T. 11. Milligan, Puaha, Little River. Mrs F. G. Reed, Greymouth, is the guest of Mrs W. Stan bury, Puaha, Little River. Miss F. M. Macrae, Timaru, is visiting Christchurch and is staying at the Hotel Federal. Miss Josie Morrow, Salisbury Street, Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs S. Le Compte, Cooptown, Little River. The annual ball of the staff of Woolworths (N.Z.) Limited will be held on Monday, September 25, at the Winter Garden. Mrs G. T. Bullock, Fendalton, Christchurch, accompanied by her daughter, is the guest of her sister, Mrs 11. D. M’Hugh, Invercargill. Miss Zilla Wild, Christchurch, will spend part of the school holidays with her mother, Mrs Wild, Dalrymple Road, Invercargill. Miss Beatrice Cowper. Pahiatua, who has been the guest of Mrs Douglas Deaps, “ Rowallan,” is now staying with Miss Isabel Turrell, Fendalton. Miss Mabel Powell, Wellington, has arrived to visit her brother and sister-in-law, the Rev E. C. \A . Powell and Mrs Powell, Sydenham. The management and staff of Ford Motors, Canterbury, Limited, have issued invitations to the fifth annual dance to be held at Frascati on September 14. The Christchurch Corsair Club will celebrate its eighth birthday with a grand carnival to-morrow, old members being specially welcome. Mrs West-Watson, Bishopscourt, Dominion President of the Mothers’ Union, who has been in Wellington for the biennial meeting of the Council, returned home on Saturday. Messrs George Stewart, W. Russell (Dunedin), E. T. Anderson (Murchison), H. Marriott (Timaru), and R. A. Roberts (Wellington) are staying at the Hotel Federal. Miss Hilda Montgomery, Wairewa, Little River, has left td attend the New Zealand ski championships which are to be held at Mount Cook during this week. Mrs Leonard Webb, Invercargill, who has been staying with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr and Mrs L. CWebb. Deans Avenue, has returned home, accompanied by Miss Edwards, Wellington. Mrs Bellingham, who has been the guest of Mrs R. Cunningham, Christchurch, returned to her home in \Vellington yesterday, accompanied by Mr Bellingham, who will leave for England this w r eek.
