CARNIVAL DANCE.
Mrs A. Edmonds and Mrs G. T. Hill, assisted by members of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the St John Ambulance Association, held a most successful carnival dance and party in the new Ambulance Hall last evening - . The Mayor and Mayoress were the guests of hon-
our. The costumes were varied, some of the old-fashioned coats dating back to 1890. Mrs Edmonds’s costume was mid-Victorian, and Mrs Hill wore a coat and hat which might have been the fashion somewhere about 1890. Mrs M. Price and Mrs Maine supplied the music. Items were given by Mrs Piper, Mvs A. Jones, and the Misses M'Leod. Mr E. P. Cliapell was M.C. Proceeds from the dance, will be used to buy underclothing for the Metropolitan Relief Depot.
