The depression is now moving away eastward and a very intense anticyclone, the centre of which is over eastern Australia, is advancing over the Tasman Sea on to New Zealand. Forecast.—Strong southerly winds still reaching gale force on parts of the coast, but gradually moderating. The weather is still changeable with showers on the coast and in places hail, but improving and mainly fine inland. Temperatures, cold with some hard frosts.
