CAPSIZE OF CAR.
Woman Suffers Fatal Injuries. A SLIPPERY ROAD. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, August 4. As a result of a motor-car in which she was riding capsizing in Garfield Avenue, Roslyn, this afternoon, a single woman, thirty-three years of age, Ivy May Davidson Perriam. received injuries to her head which caused her death in the hospital later in the day. Deceased, who resided at Mosgiel, was travelling in her own car, which was being driven by a friend, Robert Barker, miner, Mosgiel. He turned the car into Garfield Avenue, which is a very steep street, but deceased told him that that was the wrong street and he stopped the car, intending to back out again into Highgate. The wheels, however, were on a greasy patch and the car slid forward, going partly up a steep bank and capsizing downhill. The driver escaped unhurt, but Miss Perriam received serious injuries about the head. She was removed to the hospital and died at 4.50 P.m.
