LEG SEVERED.
Accident in the Glenavy Railway Yard. Per Press Association. OAMARU, August 4. At 4.30 this afternoon an accident occurred at the Glenavy railway yards, a rake of trucks passing over the left leg of Thomas Devlin, aged eighteen years, of Glenavy. He and three others were engaged loading potatoes and shifting a rake of six trucks on to another line, when his left foot was caught in the points, for*' waggon wheels passing over and practically severing the leg above the ankle, while the toes of the right foot were crushed also. The unfortunate young man w T as brought on a shutter by the south express to Oamaru and removed by ambulance to the Oamaru Public Hospital.
