CULT OF BEAUTY.

Rejuvenating Powers of Sleep. BICYCLE EXERCISE. (By A BEAUTY SPECIALIST.) Tlie first thing that a woman should have to keep her beauty at its fullesi bloom is a daily health routine. Th« foundation of such a routine should b< vest, and plenty of it. Nine hours oi rejuvenating sleep in every twenty-foui hours is an absolute necessity to anj woman who- wishes to keep her beauty. It does not matter when those hours come, day or night, but nothing should interrupt’ them. They are the rounds tion of any successful beauty regime.

For your daily nine hours of effortless rejuvenation always insist upon a large bedroom with two windows, and, if possible, when it is not too cold, sleep with your windows open. When you awake in the morning, don’t jump out of bed and rush through a series of strenuous exercises. This is hardly very helpful to one’s beauty; indeed, it makes nervous wrecks of many women. Instead, lie in bed for ten or fifteen minutes and stretch your arms and legs. It is a simple little exercise, but it is an awfully good one. After this gentle exercise period proceed to your other exercises. These should be neither complicated nor strenuous. The very simple exercises that everyone knows about, but seldom put into practice, are best. The bicycle exercise is splendid. Lie on a rug on the floor, and do it very slowly, pulling each leg up as if weights were attached to it. This is the only way to get the benefit of such an exercise. I firmly believe that this bicycle routine, along with hip-twisting exercises, vjtU keep women from having fat where they most detest it — on the hips and waist. Of course, to keep from offsetting the benefits of these exercises one must sit and -walk correctly during the rest of the day. Headers, never miss your liip-twisting programme. With your hands on your hips, twist slowly from side to side, stretching upwards at the same time.

This is a perfect exercise for keeping & fashionable waistline without excessive dieting. A Secret. I know a beauty secret, a real one \ou can have a real fountain of beauty, and of youth, to“o, in your kitchen tap. Drink eight glasses of water a day! That’s a real beauty secret! Drink more if you like, drink at least that much The water will wash impurities out of your system. It will make your skin better, your eyes brighter. Plain water —applied internally. Of course you must apply water externally. Take* at least ono bath a day—but of course we all do that—and add an extra bath a day if you like. When you wake up, take a cool or cold shower. Follow this by a swift rub with a rough towel until you glow. Then drink one or two glasses of water. It may be hot or cold. Put a few drops of lemon in the water if you like!
