ST CUTHBERT’S GUILD.
The monthly meeting - of St Cuthbert’s Guild, Governor’s Bay, was held in the vicarage on Thursday. There was a good attendance of members. Arrangements were made for the guild bring and buy social and flower show to be held on September 7 at the Cholmondeley Home, by kind permission
of Mrs Bishop. The following members were asked to take charge of the various stalls: Mesdames Hall and Fatchett, afternoon tea; Mrs Pearce and Miss Wheeler, bring and buy stall; Mrs Bishop and . Miss Allen. apron and variety stall; Misses Parr and Maclaverty, cake stall: Mrs Brown, flower stall; Misses Margaret Sage and Joan Lisle, egg basket and mystery packets. Mr Carpenter has consented to judge
the flowers, and Mr Crmpton cakes and all cooking classes. During the afternoon Mrs Ring judged the apron and sugar bag article competitions. Mrs Sage was first with apron and Mrs Brown, with a beautifully worked hassock made from dyed sugar bag, gained first. Mrs Bishop gained lirst for best and cheapest seat. Mrs Pearce and Miss Parr were hoatesses fir the afternoon.
