Luna Lux’s Jockey Has Had Many G.N. Rides. Alan M’Donald, who will ride Luna Lux and Henry of Navarre respectively in the Grand National Steeplechase and Hurdle Race, had his first ride in a Grand National eighteen years ago. That was on Awahou in the Hurdles, and he was unplaced. He won this event in 1917 on Sleight of Hand, while he was third in 1922 on Ngata and again in 1928 on Red Fuchsia. M’Donald has not won the Steeplechase. He was runner-up in 1919 on Master Lupin, also in 1930 on Corneroff. Omeo, his mount in 1931, started favourite, but missed a place.
