REFEREES’ PRESIDENT.
Transfer to Auckland Announced. At a meeting of the Canterbury Rugby Referees’ Association last evening. Mr S. Hollander, who for some years has been president of that body, announced that, as he had been transferred to Auckland, he would have to tender his resignation. On the motion of Mr J. Armstrong, a vote of appreciation in Mr Hollander’s service, coupled with a wish for his future prosperity, was carried. Tti reply, Mr Hollander said that it was with deep regret that he severed his connection with the Canterbury Association. His term as president had been a pleasant one and he would carry with him many happy memories of his association with the game in the province.
