T £ e^ eetin& of M arist Old Boys and Ford Motors in the junior grade was centre of attraction, for Marist, with a lead of one point over Ford Motors, required a win to assure them of championship honours. Both teams were evidently influenced by this fact, and shot much below form. Ford Motors managed to draw level a~nin by defeating Marist by 542 to 539. A. Hughes (70), A. Purves (69) and C. Cochrane (69) were mainly responsible for Ford Motors’ victory. R. Grant (69) was the only Marist member to shoot up to form. Kaiapoi Woollen and Heatheote drew with 536 each. F. The entry in the junior championship last Saturday was not up to expectations. Nevertheless, it was much better than that of last year, and the shooting in both the team and individual matches was good. Ford Motors, in winning the teams’ match in the junior section, were only two points behind the winning total in the recent open championship. Members of the Ford Motors’ team also won the championship aggregate and the individual match. C. Priest and C. Witty tied in the aggregate, but Priest won in the shoot-off. A. Hughes won the Individual Match with eleven bull’s-eyes. He shot very consistently during the meeting. Mrs A. B. L. Smith (Ward’s Ladies) is to be congratulated on winning the president’s grade championship tor the second year in succession. She had the fine total of 157 out of a possiole 160. Last year Mrs Smith's aggregate total was 158. Miss Corser (New Brighton Ladies) won the Individual Match in this grade with the good score of ten bull’S^yes.
