WAIMATE HGUNT.

Race Meeting to be Held To-morrow. GLANCE AT FIELDS. After a lapse of a couple of years, the Waimate Hunt Club is holding its annual race meeting. There was some hesitation about carrying on this year, but the acceptances give promise of some interesting racing and if the weather be kind, the club should obtain a satisfactory result. Racing will begin with the Noon. Mount Boa, Blue Metal and Kakara are interesting newcomers. Semper Paratus is another who should make good at this game. Rational 11. has had a fair amount of jumping education lately. Polling Day 9.13 and Punchestown 9.0 were second and third to Huntley in the Ashburton hurdle race on June 24 Backers are likely to favour Polling Day, Punchestown and Semper Paratus. 12.35 p.m. NOVICE STAKES, of 35 sovs; six furlongs—Gay Robe, Royal Grafton, Mainliglit, Marmoration, Lvcidas. Red Boa with 8.6 won the Farewell Handicap, seven furlongs, at Wingatm on June 3 from Polydora—a good recommendation. Gold Pit has not raced recently, but Locksley has some fair form to his credit this year. Projection won twice at Marlborough in May, but was subsequently unplaced at Omoto. Steeton failed at Oamaru. Wise Choice was fourth in the race won by Palantua at Ashburton on June 24. Night Recital was further back in that race.
