SPORTS SHOES.
Perhaps the most interesting novelty for the court** is a new tennis shoe which can be bought at only one West End house, writes a London correspondent. This is in white canvas with a new sponge inner-sole that makes it surprisingly comfortable to wear. The outer sole rubber composition, and made so that it will not slip. Another new design for this season is in buckskin, all white or trimmed with coloured leather, and is said to be the lightest ever made. Again there are two soles, an inner one in thin leather and an outer one in crepe rubber. White shoes with a touch of colour will be seen often on the courts this season, and the colour may be red, green or blue, or the more usual brow’ll. The woman who looks on is to have as much novelty at her feet as the player this season. White frog-skin shoes are so new* ami attractive that just to sit and look at them is an entertainment in itself. And the newest correspondence shoes, in brown glace and white woven string, have their only rivals in the “newcomers” to the shoe world made of oatmeal crash and brown srlace kid.
