WEEK-END ACCIDENTS.

Three in City and One at Geraldine. Three accidents, none of them serious, which took place in the city over the -week-end, resulted in three persons being admitted to the Public Hospital. In an accident near Geraldine, a young man received serious head injuries. Woman Struck by Car. Mrs F. C. Malcolmson, of 280 Gloucester Street, was struck by a motorcar at the corner of Barbadoes and Armagh Streets last night and was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. It was thought at first that Mrs ( Malcolmson’s- right leg was fractured, but it was later found to be dislocated, and although she was generally knocked about, her condition was not serious. The driver of the car took Mrs Malcolmson to hospital. Two Persons Injured. Three cyclists and a motor cyclist were involved in a collision on the Main North Road near Kaiapoi on Saturday evening. The motor cyclist, Leon Percy M'Gowan, of Havelock Street, Ashburton, was rendered unconscious. and was later admitted to the Christchurch Hospital with head injuries. Two of the cyclists were unhurt. but the third, Raymond Tomlin, of Marshland, was also unconscious and was admitted to the hospital with head injuries. Both men are reported to be in a satisfactory condition. Both the cyclists and M'Gowan were riding in the same direction when the collision took place about 11.15 p.m. Boy Seriously Hurt. On Friday evening a lad named David Barker, a son of Mr P. Barker, of Rocky Ridges, was riding home from Geraldine on his motor-cycle when a collision occurred between the cycle and a gig driven by Roland Prattley, of Gapes Valley, at a bend of the road. Barker sustained serious head injuries and was taken to the Braeside Hospital. Geraldine, where he was reported to be doing as well as could be expected. Prattley was thrown on to the road when his horse bolted, but was not badly hurt. Both the cycle and gig were considerablydamaged.
