Arrangements for the Club Championships. This year’s twenty-a-sicle matches by telegraph to decide the chess club champion Sh i P o f Ne w Zeal an d ar e toco minen e e on June 10. the pairing being Auckland Club and Wellington Club and Otago v. Canterbury The inter-island final is to be played in July. In the event of a tie through each side scoring ten points the honours are to go to the club that has made the higher score at the first sixteen boards. Should this elimination test still Jesuit in a. tie, eight-eight, the
first twelve hoards will be considered The club championship is at present held by the Otago Chess Club, which last year defeated the Wellington Club in the inter-island final, by two games.
