Ireland Beats Denmark, and Meets Japan Next. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received Mav 10, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 9. The Davis Cup zone matches were continued to-day. At Copenhagen, Rogers (Ireland) beat Jacobsen (Denmark), 6-1. 6-3, 6-4. Ulrich (Denmark) beat M'Veagh (Ireland), 6-2, 6-3, 6-3. Ireland won the tie by three matches to two and will meet Japan in the second round. At Brussels, Lacroix (Belgium) beat Artens (Austria). 6-2, 6-2, 6-4. Matejka (Austria) beat de Borman (Belgium), 2-6, 6-4, 6-0, 3-6, 6-3. Austria won by three matches to two. and will meet Italy in the second round. GOING TO ENGLAND. Mrs Wills-Moody to Defend Wimbledon Title. (Received May 10, 11.30 a.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, May 9. Mrs Helen Wills-Moody has announced that she will defend her Wimbledon singles title. She is leaving next week for England, but will not compete in other countries.
