. This Morning’s Work at Riccarton. [ Beautiful weather favoured training ■ operations at Riccarton this morning, when the No. 6 grass and plough tracks 1 were available for fast work. The sand track was again open for exercise work. Practically all of the horses engaged at Amberley have had their share of * racing recently, and not much serious ‘ galloping was witnessed this morning. ’ On the grass Martian Chief went half 5 a mile in 50 2-osec. : St Joan and Imperial Spear ran five furlongs in lmin 2 2-ssec. Gay Crest and Water Polo covered five furlongs in lmin 3 3-ssec. Ramo and Glandovey got over half a mile in 50 l-ssec. Wise Choice was in front of Metal Bird at the end of six furlongs in lmin 15sec. Fleeting Glance went seven furlongs, the last six being run in lmin 17sec. Shamata joined in for the last five furlongs. Cranford galloped six furlongs in lmin 15 4-ssec. Over a similar task, Hurlingham and Ranelagh occupied lmin 16sec. Robir Hood beat Golden Dart over five furlongs in lmin 2 l-ssec. On the plough Muff went strongly over nine furlongs, the last seven furlongs in lmin 34 3-ssec. Zeebrugge and Rocket did a strong seven furlongs. Heather Glow was let off lightly, and so was Polydora, who galloped yesterday. True Shaft was in front of Chief Light after five furlongs had been covered in lmin 4sec.
