AMY CENSURED.
POLAND AFFRONTED IN SIGNED ARTICLE. A Forced Landing. “ LURID DESCRIPTION ” IS RESENTED. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received May 4, 12.15 p.m.) LONDON, May 3. The British Aero Club has censured Mrs Amy Mollison for a recent article in a Sunday newspaper containing a *' somewhat lurid description of her forced landing in Poland.” The Polish Aero Club protested to the British club,
which wrote to Amy to the effect that it was satisfied that her statement was baseless. It could not accept her explanation that the facts were distorted without her knowledge, as the responsibility for signed articles rested with herself. The club counted it a matter of hon-
our that misrepresentations should not be returned for hospitality. The club was induced only by the gravity of the affront to Polish airmen to inform Amy of their disapproval of her action. A copy of the club’s decision was forwarded to Poland, accompanied by apologies and an expression of appreciation of Polish hospitality. Mrs Mollison’s Reply. Mrs Mollison made a statement deploring the unethical and unchivalrous way the Aero Club had dealt with the controversy, and the unpardonable publication of private correspondence without permission.
