Jn this a sequence shows the hero (Herbert Marshall) being warned off the turf by the stewards of the Jockey Club. This dire punishment, before which the brav- | est of racing men quail, and which has always been invested with mystery, is portrayed with a fund of dramatic detail which makes it an outstanding feature. One sees the three stewards—convincing types of turf aristocrats—sit- ‘ ting in solemn tribunal and passing judgment. It is one of the highlights of this entertaining story. Magnificentlv acted by the popular British favourites, ' Herbert Marshall, Edna Best, and that delightful Cockney character comedian, Gordon Harker, “The Calendar” is ex-i cellent entertainment. Preceding it are j , an Ideal News, and “ Rynox,” a British j s featurette, starring Stewart Rome, John i ; Longden and Dorothy Boyd.
