FORBURY PARK.

Dunedin Trotting Cup Run To-morrow. GOOD FIELDS ENGAGED. The summer meeting of. the Forbury Park Trotting Club is the most important light harness gathering held in Otago and Southland this season. The principal event, the Dunedin Cup, attracts the best horses in commission, and their presence gives the meeting considerable impetus. 12.15 p.m. VAUXHALL HANDICAP, of 13 0 sovs. Unhoppled trotters; class 3.48. One mile and a half. Bosun sct Amonos 36 Coreopsis scr Earl Bingen 36 Mataunga scr Raclaim 36 Sansaveno scr Resound 36 Sister Mary scr Sea Mist 4S Real Belle 12 Gyrate 60 The first event is the Vauxhall Handicap, and is confined to unhoppled trotters capable of traversing a mile and a half in 3.48 or better. Mataunga’s second at Timaru will attract notice. Resound and Raclaim are also apt to go much better than they are handicapped to do, so at the finish Resound and Mataunga should be prominent. 12.55 p.m. SOUTHLAND HANDICAP, of 120 sovs. Class 3.39. One mile and a half. Eastern John Appear 12 Prince scr Quita 12 Hytemoana scr Black Jester 24 Reylena scr Anthum g 4 Smokescreen scr Chenwood 36 St Felix scr Lord Lupin 36 Young Frank scr St Felix is likely to go out favourite for the Southland Handicap, but he will not have matters all his own way. Black Jester’s form at Timaru was good, and Reylena has only to repeat her track work to earn a place. In all probability St Felix and Black Jester will pay a dividend. 1.40 p.m. ELECTRIC HANDICAP, of 130 sovs. Class 2.17. One mile. Bingen Patch sct Aristotle 12 Flying Cloud scr Automatic 12 Jolly Wave scr Sister Rose 24 Peter Locanda scr Manoeuvre 24 Willie Derby scr Willie Derby raced well at the last Forbury meeting, and is likely to go a good race in the Electric Handicap. It is a mile race in harness. The Southland pacer Jolly Wave, who registered 4.29 at Winton, must also be considered. Then there are Peter Locanda, Flying Cloud, Aristotle, Automatic and Manoeuvre. In what promises to be a fine race, Jolly Wave, Peter Locanda and Aristotle should be prominent at the finish.

2.20 p.m. DUNEDIN CUP HANDICAP, of 350 sovs. Class 4.28. Two miles. Arethusa scr Regal Voyage 24 Dillon Logan scr Free Advice 3F Muriel de Oro scr Lindbergh 36 Sir Guy scr Roi l’Or 72 King Pointer 12 With Sir Guy and Lindbergh to represent his stable, C. S. Donald has a strong claim to the Dunedin Cup. Sir Guy’s recent form has been particularly good; so has that of Lindbergh. Arethusa raced well when she ran second to Lindbergh at Addington on January 2, in 4.22 4-5, and Dillon Logan cannot be overlooked. In what should prove a good betting race, C. S. Donald’s pair, Sir Guy and Lindbergh, should be better supported than Arethusa and Dillon Logan. 3 p.m. OTAGO HANDICAP, of 110 sovs. Unhoppled trotters; class 5.2. Two miles. Bosun scr Margaret Earl Bingen scr Parrish 24 Raclaim scr Sea Mist 24 Amonos 24 If Raclaim would go level all the way she would win. the Otago Handicap. Margaret Parrish is capable, and off 24yds behind she must have a big chance. The small field will suit both Raclaim and Margaret Parrish. 3.40 p.m. MUSSELBURGH HANDICAP, of 125 sovs. Class 4.45. Two miles. Elite Bingen scr Prairie King scr Godetia scr Prince Author scr Great Real Huon scr Thought scr Erin’s Princess 12 Margaret Bell scr Special Sun 12 Molly Cloudy Range 12 Desborough scr Craganour 60 Taking a line through Timaru form, Prince Author should beat Craganour in the Musselburgh Handicap. Cloudy Range has always finished well at the business end of his races, and Real Huon showed a glimpse of his best form at Timaru. So Prince Author, Real Huon and Cloudy Range may be conspicuous at the finish. 4.20 p.m. KING GEORGE HANDICAP, of 130 sovs. Class 3.10. One mile and three furlongs. Flying Cloud scr Aristotle 12 Indianapolis scr Automatic 12 Jolly Wave scr Sister Rose 24 Probationer scr Manoeuvre 24 Indianapolis will be in most demand in the King George Handicap. Jolly Wave will see out the distance, and Aristotle may also keep him busy. 5 p.m. FLYING HANDICAP, of 200 sovs. Class 2.45. One mile and a quarter. Arethusa scr Muriel de Oro scr Dillon Logan scr Sir Guy 12 John Noble scr Mountain Dell 12 Little Guy scr Regal Voyage 24 Little Guy is well, and he is very capable over a mile and a quarter. John Noble raced well at Timaru, and Dillon Logan and Arethusa must also have a chance. Then on 12yds are Sir Guy and Mountain Dell, with Regal Voyage 12yds farther back. In what appears to be a very open race, Little Guy, Dillon Logan and Regal Voyage should be handy at the winning post. At the Trentham sale last week. Mr J. Porter’s yearling colt by Night Raid from Star Lady, was purchased by Mr G. N. Magill for 550 guineas. It was announced later that he was secured on behalf of a New-South Wales partnership, the other two members being Messrs J. S. Brunton and W. H. Mackay. The colt, who is well grown, is a half brother to Star Stranger, and he may develop into a good stayer. RACING FIXTURES. January 27—Opotiki J.C. January 28—Napier Park R.C.
