Warm Temperatures are Maintained. (Special to the " Star."* ASHBURTON, January 15. The hot weather during last week was maintained on Saturday and today when the maximum temperature was 78 degrees and 72.2 degrees respectively in the shade at the Domain weather station. Motor Drivers’ Licenses. Since the beginning of this month eighteen motor drivers’ licenses have been issued by the county traffic inspector (Mr E. N. Johnson) making a total of 2825 since the commencement of the current year on June 1, 1932. During the past three years there has been a significant decrease in the number of licenses issued. In 1930-31 the total was 3027 and in 1931-32 there were 2941 issued. Girl Guidos’ Camp. About twenty-five members of the Ashburton, Methven and Rokeby Girls’ Guides will go into camp at Mayfield to-morrow morning until January 26. They will be under the control of Mrs Trail, of Little River, who is the camp mother. Personal. Mr E. P. Y. Simpson, assistant secretary of the Young Men’s Christian Association, Christchurch, conducted the services at the Baptist Church yesterday.
