GALA AT FISH PONDS.
Wednesday next, January 18, will be gala day at Johnson’s Fish Ponds, when children will be specially catered for and admitted free. The programme will be a large one. The first event will be children’s sports, commencing at 31 a.m. At 2 p.m. a fancy drsss competition will be held, at 3 p.m. a baby show, and at 3.30 a golf competition. Later a competition will be held on the stage, when there will be singing, dancing and recitation numbers. Cash prizes are offered for all events. The judging of the various events will be by popular vote. All picnic parties will be supplied with hot water free of charge. All those visiting the grounds may stay for the pictures, which will be shown at 8 p.m. There will be the usual dance programme.
