VOZOXAX GOLD MXVIVO GO. (Special to the ” Star.”) DUNEDIN, January 14. Satisfactory progress is being made by the Nokom&i Gold Mining Company. Ltd., which expects to begin operations shortly. The excavator towier has been erected complete with its track w*ncn, motor hopper and discharge. The power-house and plant are completed, and several trials have be«n made with eminently satisfactory results. Power is being continuously generated for use by an electric welding plant, and it has also been available for preliminary tests of the drag line bucket. This latter has dug and digs well, but owing to a few of the other parts of the -plant not being quite ready ft Is not possible to run it more than Just enough to ” run it in.” Both Mr Whitaker, the designer, and Mr Medley, the «pterator, are exceedingly pleased with these preliminary trials. The conveyor system Is nearly ready, the rollers are being put in place, and the belts themselves will be arranged very shortly. The washing, or screening, tower is also nearing completion. The sluice boxes are practically ready, with six sluice boxes, each of which is capable of handling 30 yards an hour, and some idea can be obtained of the capacity which the company hopes to reach in time.
