OBITUARY.
Mr David Morgan. Mr David Morgan, a well-known Christchurch journalist, died last evening at the Lewisham Hospital, at the age of fifty-four years, after a long illness. He had been associated with newspaper work for the past forty years. Mr Morgan took ill six months ago while on holiday in Wellington, and was a patient in the Wellington Hospital for two months. He returned to his home in Christchurch slightly improved in healtth, but at the beginning of this week he had a relapse. Mr Morgan was connected with many newspapers in New Zealand, serving at one time or another on the ” Dominion,” the Timaru “ Post,” the Timaru “ Herald,” the Christchurch “ Times,” the Ashburton ” Guardian,” and the Christchurch “ Press.” He was on the staff of the “ Press ” at the beginning of his illness. Mr Morgan was a very able and well-informed journalist, with a special gift foY interviewing, and at one time he contributed to the Christchurch “ Star ” a series of interviews with old colonists under the pen-name of the Reminiscence Man. Mr Morgan is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs E. Price (Wellington), Mrs Ben Cunningham, Mrs E. M’Phail, Miss Midi Morgan, and one son, Mr Leo Morgan (Christchurch).
