Gold from Cromwell District. PARCEL OP 322 OUNCES. (Special to the “ Star.") DUNEDIN. January 14. A fine sample of gold was brought to Cromwell from the hydraulic claim at Nevis. The parcel was 322 ounces and the gold, amongst which were several big pieces, is of a particularly bright nature. Ritchie, Bell and Hooper Bros., on the Kawarau, washed 520 z for three days’ work. Bell and Kilgour also have over 50oz for a week’s work.
