YOUTHFUL VOW FULFILLED
NEW YORK, December 5. New York is to have a Noel Coward winter. The film premiere of “ Cavalcade ” will take place at the. Gaiety Theatre here on January 15. The play was prepared for the film by Reginald Berkeley, a former member of the “ Daily Express ” staff, by Mr Coward’s own wish. All the several hundred members of the cast of “Cavalcade” are either British subjects or British born before naturalisation here. Mr Coward’s revue, “ Words and Music ”, touched up for New York by Mr Coward, will be produced here for a twelve weeks’ run in January, with Gertrude Lawrence in the star part. Finally Mr Coward will himself appear in a new play which he has written, entitled, “ Design for a Living ”. Mr Coward will be supported by New York’s leading actor, Alfred Lunt, who is an Englishman. The play is the outcome of a mutual vow between Mr Lunt and Mr Coward when both were very young and unknown.
