Officers of the Public Works Department, and representatives of the Rope Construction Co., of Auckland, which ‘ h « successful tenderer for the building of the new wharf at the ChatflfI n r'i S .T dS ' T W , in leave Lyttelton for the Chatham Islands in the early part Mr H. S. Griffiths, of the Christchurch office of the Department will be clerk of works and will remain on the site of the work until the wharf is completed. Mr J. B. Jackson, of the 'spartment s engineering staff at Christchurch, will conduct the preliminary lay-out of the wharf and will return to Christchurch when that is completed.
