REFTON NOTES.
(Special to the “ Star.”) REEFTON, January 13. applications placed before Mr Meidrum, Warden, at the sitting of tne Warden a Court were adjourned until January 26. J. C. Hunt’s application for a residence site at Maruia was withdrawn.
The following applications were grant©d: -I>. Ross and P. J. Murray for: (1) Special site license over five acres at Hinau; (2) a water-race license, ten heads, at Antonio’s Creek. Blackwater Mines, Ltd., for leave to register an assignment after the prescribed period elapsed.—Granted on payment of fine of Is.
Application by F. W. Archer for.: (1) An extension of time within which to oo a !H. rvey plan for . application No. 1323-; (2) an extension o £ time within which application No. 132-32 may be finally disposed of were both recommended to the Minister of Mines for his consent.
The following suits were adjourned until January 26:—Walker and Comerford v. Boatmans Consolidated Gold Mines, Ltd. (in liquidation) for cancellation of certain mining privileges. A. Mitchell v. W. J. Morris, for cancellation of prospecting license. W. J. Morris v. G. Vv hite, for cancellation of a prospecting license. Magistrate’s Court.
The following cases were dealt with at the sitting of the Magistrate's Cour.t, Mr W. Meldrum, S.M., presiding:*— Thomas Turner, on a charge of assault, causing actual bodily harm, was remanded until January 26. Bail was allowed, self £SO and one surety of £SO or two at £25. For driving a motor vehicle without a license, Stanley Stevens and Louis Grogan were each fined 5s and costs. Personal. Mr and Mrs H. Smith, New Plymouth, are the guests of Mr and Mrs J. B. Auld.
