FIGHT WITH POLICE.
TWO OFFICERS INJURED. The police and bailiffs succeeded in making an entry into the house in Longbridge Road, Dagenham, England, which was in a state of siege for two days. Police attempted to persuade the tenants to leave quietly, -but their appeals were greeted with jeers and shouts from about a dozen men and a woman in the upper rooms. The police then battered the side door with a large wooden ram, and a stream of water was poured down on their heads. The door gave way after a time, and the police entered. They were met by the occupiers, and there was a scuffle. One by one the defenders were taken from the house, and as their number decreased the others attempted to _ escape by dropping from the upstairs windows. A police sergeant and a constable were injured. Eleven men and a woman were arrested.
