AUNT HILDAS LETTER .

GARDENERS, PLEASE! Entries In on Tuesday Next. J)EAR STARLETS ALL.— Such crowds of you are still at the beaches and even Pollyanna has airily bidden Starland good-bye and tripped off to (I suspect) the beaches too. So this week I have to work twice as hard, which is very good for me and prevents me from becoming fat and lazy! Next Thursday is the gladioli show and I expect many of you have seen the enormous spikes of these lovely flowers in the windows about town. Many of you I know are growing them too, but whether you will have them ready for show or not I cannot tell. But there are other classes and I would like* to see everyone who possibly can try hard to help the show along. There are several very enthusiastic gardeners who have been working hard and they will feel very proud and happy when they see their work on exhibit. Following is the list of classes and the entries close with me on Tuesday next, the 17th. If you can only enter for one class, come along and do your bit. Entry is free and vases will be provided if you have not nice ones of your own. The officials of the society will give you every possible assistance and you can start staging any time after 8.30 a.m. in the old Art Gallery. Any further information I will gladly give if you ring 34-806. Now wich one of these can you try for? 118 6 Gladioli, any kind.
