Ex-Bandmaster of the Greys Dead. MR JAMES ORD HUME. LONDON, December 1. Mr James Ord Hume, a former bandmaster of the Royal Scots Greys, who composed 500 marches, was buried at Edmonton Cemetery on Wednesday. He was associated for many years with Sir Arthur Sullivan in 'arranging i the national band festivals at the Crystal Palace, and was noted as adjudi- ‘ cator in band contests both at Home and in Australia. Mr Ord Hume, who held the rank of lieutenant, received his musical educa- ’ tion in an Army band. He contributed to many musical publications. He introduced community singing to the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffa- ! loes, of which he was a prominent member. Mr Ord Hume was sixty-eight years of age.
