Former Hotel Licensee Dead.
The death is reported from the south of Mr Claude Cecil Thompson at the age of forty-eight years. Mr Thompson was well known in Christchurch and Dunedin, and while here was for two or three years licensee of the .Shades Hotel, Hereford Street, retiring from that house some six years ago. He also had an interest at one time in the White Hart Hotel. After his retirement he lived in Dunedin and later visited other towns in Otago. He was well known among city business men and made many friends in Christchurch. He showed an interest in football and other sports and his death will be regretted by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances.
