FETE AT WOOLSTON.

A successful garden fete in aid of the Sisters of the Missions was held in St Anne’s School grounds, Woolston. In declaring the fete open. His Lordship Bishop Brodie thanked all those who had worked so hard to make it a success. It was indeed gratifying to see that the people and children of the Woolston parish, by doing good work, were showing their appreciation of the splendid efforts of the Sisters of the Missions. Good business was done at the various stalls which were stocked with pleasing and attractive articles. A baby show, side shows and sports for the children added interest to the fete. Prise-winners in the baby show were:—Girls, three months—Mrs Duncan’s baby 1, Mrs Cox’s baby 2. Girls, under nine months—Mrs C. Trewern’s baby 1, Mrs Ellery’s baby 2. Boys, under six months—Mrs Shammy’s baby 1, Mrs Newton’s baby 2. Boys, under nine months—Mrs J. Williamson’s baby 1, Mrs M’Laughlin’s baby 2.
