Miss Yvonne Coard, Riccarton, left last night for Rotorua and Auckland. Mrs John Moore, Fendalton, left last evening for the North Island. Miss Gresson, Christ’s College, will spend the vacation At Sumner. Mr and Mrs John Corbett, Cashmere Hills, have left to spend the Christmas holidays in the North-Island. Mrs J. Silvester, Halswell, has returned from a visit to her daughter, Mrs F. A. Wilson, Palmerston North. Miss A. Merton, Cambridge Terrace, is spending a holiday at Governor’s Bay. Miss Betty Guthrie, Armagh Street, has returned from Timaru, where she was the guest of Mrs A. Grant. Miss Rene Buckhurst, Cashel Street West, will leave on Christmas Eve for a motor trip in North Canterbury. Miss Laura Loughnan, Fendalton, will be the guest of Mrs G. W. Harty, Lower Hutt, next week. Mr Justice Kennedy and Mrs Kennedy (Dunedin) are staying at the United Service Hotel. Miss Olive Kirkham, “ Delamere,” Whitecliffs, is the guest of Miss Elsie Russell, Oxford. Nurse M. M’Leod has returned to duty after three weeks’ holiday with Mrs Norman Dalzell, Lakeside. Dr and Mrs Noble Adams. Maxwell Road, will leave Blenheim to-morrow for Christchurch. Captain C. Sinclair-Thomson. R.N., and Mrs Sinclair-Thomson, Wellington, are visiting Blenheim. Mr and Mrs A. W. Reeves, Carlton Mill Road, left to-day to spend the holidays in Timaru. Wairarapa. is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs W. J. Minty, Merivale. Mrs J. M’L. Reid, Culverden. will spend Christmas with her parents, Mr and Mrs T. F. Gibson, Fendalton. Mr and Mrs Highet and daughter, Spreydon, are visiting relatives at Paengaroa, Bay of Plenty. Miss Elizabeth Morris, Fendalton. will he the guest of Miss Dorothy Walton, Timaru, for the Christmas holidays. Mrs J. B. Beckett, “ Almora,” Victoria Street, will leave next week to pay a visit to- her sister, Mrs F. S. Goldings ham, Palmerston^North. Miss Peggy Norton, Bealey Avenue, left yesterday afternoon to spend Christmas with her sister, Mrs Maurice Macfarlane, Waikari. Mr and Mrs L. H. Orbell and Mr G. B. Orbell, Winchester, will be the guests of Mrs J. C. Buckland, .Akaroa, for the Christmas holidays. ? Mrs A. J. Stone-Wigg and Mr J. L. Stone : Wigg, Waihi School, will leave at the beginning of January to spend a holiday at Queenstown. Mrs A. W. Andrew, Cashmere Hills, returned yesterday from a visit to her daughter, Mrs James Ensor, “Garrymere,” Rangiora. Miss L. Humphreys will arrive in Christchurch to-day, en route to Ashburton, to visit her parents, Mr and Mrs Humphreys. Mr and Mrs A. C. Nathan, “ Eltham Lodge,” and their two sons will arrive in Christchurch to-day, and will be the guests of Mr and Mrs J. Jamieson. Mr and Mrs S. T. Critchley, “Tyntesfield,” and their small daughter will be the guests of Mrs Critchley’s parents, Mr and Mrs Rittson Thomas, “ Tirihonga,” during Christmas. Mr and Mrs R. D. Benjamin and the Misses Eileen and Noeline Benjamin, College Avenue, Christchurch, are visitors to Wellington for the BenjaminCameron wedding. Miss Eileen Hughson, who is well known in musical circles in Christchurch, left this week for Taranaki, where her parents reside. Mr and Mrs Rowland Reid and the Misses Valerie and Joyce Reid, Hagley Avenue, will spend the holidays at Geraldine, leaving on Tuesday. Misses Noreen Butterfield and Thelma Brealy, of Selwyn Street. Spreydon, left last evening to spend the holidays with relations in the Bay of Plenty. Miss Claire Perry, St Michael’s Vicarage, who has been staying in Sydney, has now gone to visit relatives in Melbourne. Mr and Mrs R. R. C. Venning, Rutland Street. St Albans, will leave on Christmas Day for a holiday at Wainui. Mr and Mrs J. E. Paterson, Nelson, are visiting Mrs Paterson’s parents, Mr and Mrs T. Black, Manchester Street, for the holidays. Mr and Mrs T. W. TothilJ, Christ’s College, are spending the holidays with Mr Tothill’s sister, in the King Country, North Island. Mrs Frank A’Court, Montreal Street, left last evening to stay with Mrs W. H. Ballinger, in Wellington, prior to visiting her mother, Mrs Robjohns, Napier. Mrs B. II- Burns and Mrs MilnerHarris, Chester Street, will leave tomorrow to spend the Christmas holidays with Mrs A. A. M’Master, SumMr and Mrs D. Phillips. Miss Phillips and Mr R. D. Phillips (Dunedin), Mrs Willoughby Dye and Miss Barbara Dye (Los Angeles) are staying at the United Service Hotel. Mr. and Mrs A. E. M’Dougall and Misses Margaret and Violet Livingston, Dunedin, arrived in Christchurch last night and are staying at the United Service Hotel.
