CHRISTMAS CAROLS.
Bands Will Follow Usual Custom. The sound of carols will usher in Christmas Day for residents of the Fendalton, Riccarton, Sydenham, Linwood and Spreydon districts. Once again the four Salvation Army Ipands will march out at five o’clock on Christmas morning to greet the day in oldtime fashion. The city band will visit the Fendalton and Riccarton districts, and the Sydenham, Linwood and Spreydon districts will be visited by their respective bands. Already' the City Band has been busy playing carols. Last evening it visited the Cashmere Sanatorium and entertained the patients with an hour’s programme of carols and other music. On Tuesday and twice last week it played in various parts of the city area. To-morrow country people will be entertained with carols when the band will visit Templeton and Islington in the afternoon.
