RICCARTON BROWNIES.

The Riccarton Brownies held their annual closing ceremony last evening in St James Schoolroom. The guests of the evening were the Guiders and Guides of the Riccarton Company and the Rev R. de Lambert. The supper committee comprised Mesdames Baxter O’Neill (president), R. de Lambert, F. E. Cossins, E. M. Brown, P. Palmer, H. M'Leod (secretary), Captain N. M. Jarman, Jean Harris (Brown Owl), L. S. Corsbie (Tawny Owl) were also present. Sweet peas and apricot streamers decorated the supper tables, and a handsome china owl presented by Mrs W. H. Price to the Brownie pack stood in the centre of the table. This trophy will be given in monthly competition to the various sixes for attendance and neatness. Thanks were extended to the donor of the gift and to the committee by the Rev R. de Lambert. Items given were:—Musical, Jane O’Brien and Betty Coombes; canoe song. Girl Guides; dancing, Molly Steel and Pauline Price: recitations, Marie Brown and Ruth Yellowlees.
