Fights Battle With Police Raiding Party. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. CHICAGO, December 20. A notorious gangster and bootlegger, Frank Nitti, was killed to-day when the police raided the headquarters of his gang in a city office building. The seven gangsters present lined up to the wall meekly enough, until the officers noticed Nitti put a small piece of paper into his mouth and chew violently. A policeman leaped at the man to snatch the papei away, but Nitti drew a revolver and ten shots were exchanged before Nitti fell dead. The mysterious paper contained a list in code of what is suspected to be the names of persons marked down for death in tne beer wars.
