Peterwah May Attempt to Set New Record.

(Special to the "Star.”) AUCKLAND, December 21. Provided that the dirt track at Epsom retains its present splendid order, P. J. Smith will send the trotter Peterwah over a flying mile to morrow morning in an endeavour to lower the record of 2min 11 l-ssec put up by Todd Lonzia at Forbury Park last month. Peterwah has a two-mile winning race record of 4min 23 4-ssec, made at Addington three seasons ago, and the owner, Mr R. C. Fisken, has stated that at times the horse has shown him 2min Bsec for the mile. The mile record stood at 2min 11 4-osec, to the credit of Avenue, for a considerable number of years, until it was lowered at Dunedin by Todd Lonzia.
