ST JOHN AMBULANCE.

A meeting of the St John Ambulance Ladies’ Auxiliary was held in the City Tea Rooms, Cathedral Square, on Monday last. Those present were Mrs Hugh Williams (president), Mesdames Edmonds, Manson, Wilson, Woolford, Taylor, Roberts, Hobbs, Blair, Coleridge-Farr, Climie, Fricker, Dawson, Bishop, Mason, Hill, Jones, Cordery and Barnett Misses Niblock and Rudd. A special vote of thanks was passed to the Mayor (Mr G. D. Sullivan, M.P.) for his assistance in granting funds during the past winter. The whole of the material bought has now been made into garments and distributed to the unemployed through the depots. It was agreed to send an assurance to the Mayor that the members of the auxiliary would continue their work during the coming winter, and that during the summer months members would be working with that objective. it was decided to close the rooms in Hereford Street, as a room would be available shortly in the St John Ambulance Brigade rooms. Mrs Mason reported having attended a meeting of the St John Ambulance Brigade, which was held in reference to the bazaar in March next, and at which the Ladies’ Auxiliary are having a stall. The president thanked the members of the committee for their great work during the past winter.

Miss R. Niblock’s resignatiqn as secretary was received with regret, and the committee passed a vote of thanks for her services. Mrs G. Trevor Hill was elected secretary.
