OBITUARY.
Well-known Residents on West Coast. < Special to the ** Star."j GREYMOUTII, November 3. The death occurred yesterday, at his late residence, Goldsborough, of Mr Edward Steele, aged fifty-seven. He was a native of Ballymacomb, Ireland, and a well-known resident of the Kumara and Goldsborough districts. He leaves a widow and four sons, besides a sister, Mrs W. Ferguson, of Kumara Junction, and two brothers Two fiisteff are in Ireland. The death occurred yesterday at the Grey River Hospital of James Hines, aged seventy-seven, a native of Kaikoura. He had been resident on the West Coast for forty-five years, twentyfour years of which were spent in Ruru. The late JVIr Hines, who had been employed for a lengthy period by the Lake Brunner Sawmilling Company, was a prominent axeman in his day. His wife died eleven ago at Christchurch. He leaves two sons, James (Ruru) and John (Punakatkai), and one daughter, Mrs W. Dales (Wanganui). The funeral will take] jplace conll&ru&ry morning at the Karor©l Cemetery.
