The Snowy River Company’s engineer, Mr T. Prospects have been taken from the entrance to No. 30 tunnel, which is on the claim 40ft above the claim bottom, and good gold has been obtained from the prospects taken. By carrying part of the ditching round the gullies a considerable amount of fluming has been obviated and a considerable saving effected. Golden Point Company.

The Golden Point Gold and Scheelite Company, Etd., forwards the following report received from the superintendent for the period ended October 29:—* No. 2 Rise, No. 4 Crosscut.—Stoping has been resumed in this area, south and south-west of the rise. The reef ranges from four to six feet wide in this area, the free gold values being well maintained. The distance from this stope to the intermediate level is 53ft, and the quality of the stone should improve as work progresses, good values showing in the intermediate level, where the stone dipped below the level. No. 4 Rise, Intermediate level.—Stoping is being continued off the south-west drive from this rise. The reef is about 2ft wide, and in this vicinity good values were met with when driving. No. 3 Rise, No. 4 Crosscnt.—A drive has been put in on the home reef to connect with Messrs Donaldson’s old workings. This has progressed 40ft from the rise, and there remains another 45ft to be driven. The reef has varied in size from ISin to 3ft, but the free gold values have been well maintained.

Outcrop—Rails are being laid from the winch-housfe to a point (120 ft) on the hillside, where the reef and formation assayed 7£ dwts. The outcrop will be worked on the “ open cut ” principle and the material gravitated direct to the ore bin at a light cost, and will ensure the ball mill working to capacity. Mill.—So far this has been running intermittently, but with the adjustment of necessary details, will soon be running regularly. The power available is fully equal to requirements. The stamp battery was unfortunately shut down for a week owing to a fractured cam shaft, which has since been repaired and the stamps are now running continuously.
