The action is set in the Jewish slum quarter of the American city, where lives Mendel (George Sidney)* a poverty-stricken plumber and hia family. Mendel’s one ambition is to succeed aa an inventor, that he may make money to assure the happiness of hie wife and children. When the invention is successful, things take a different course from that which he had planned, and many ups and downs result before the family realises that money is not everything. “Fireman, Save My Child ’* stars the inimitable Joe E. Brown, who appears in this picture as a fireman, bent on producing a fire-ex-tinguishing bomb. \VJien he received an offer to play baseball for an important team, he leaves his little home town and the girl be is engaged to, and gets Into all sorts of scrapes before ;he nappy ending is reached. Evalyn Knapp makes a charming heroine, and others la the east include Lilian Bond, Moore and Ouy Ktbbee.
