ADVISED TO SIGN.
Miners Fail to Support Dole Strikers. N.S.W. COMMITTEE’S DECISION. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received November 2, 12.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, November 2. A meeting of the “ Committee of Struggle ” on the northern coalfields passed a resolution advising the dole strikers to sign the questionnaire. The committee accused the employed workers, “ the northern miners’ executive and their lackeys,” with failing to stand by the unemployed. Trouble appeared imminent in New South Wales when, thousands of unemployed, who were in receipt of the dole, refused to sign a questionnaire which has just been introduced by the Stevens Government. A riot occurred in Sydney, and a further disturbance at Glebe, a suburb, whilst on the northern mining fields, the unemployed assumed a threatening attitude.
