BROCCOLI FOR WINTER.

Broccoli seed, from which it is intended to raise plants for use during winter, should be sown at once. They should be grown hardy, and with plenty of fibrous roots, so that they lift and transplant well. Sow the seed in drills about Bin apart, and when the seedlings have made three leaves they should be lifted and pricked out Gin apart. Grown in this way, when the time conies for transplanting to their permanent quarters, the plants will lift with plenty of roots and give good results.
