BUILDERS’ ASSOCIATION.
The Canterbury Builders' Association met last evening:, Mr It. C. Jamieson presiding’. With reference to the charges for the Government inspection of machinery and boilers, Mr B. Moor reported that as a result of the agitation a reduction of 10*per cent had been made. He estimated that this would result in a saving to builders throughout New Zealand of £SOO. The employers' claims for a new award for carpenters and joiners was discussed in committee. It was decided to appoint Mr W. H. Winsor to represent the association as assessor. At the conclusion of the meeting Mr D. C. Davies gave an address on “ Currency Problems.”
