HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.

Meeting of N.Z. Management Committee. The Management Committee of the New Zealand Hockey Association met last evening. The Emergency Committee reported that it had approved of the appointment of R. Munro as captain and P. Job!in as vice-captain of the New Zealand team now touring Australia. Lengthy correspondence from the Australian Hockey Association dealt with the dispute in reference to. the Sunday game which had been allotted to Goulburn at Goulburn. The Goulburn Association had made strenuous attempts to have the match on the day set down and .it was possible that the match wouid be abandoned. SCHOOLS’ FIVE-A-SIDE. The primary schools' five-a-side hockey tournament was held at Hagley Park yesterday afternoon. REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS. Miss H. Schluter (Rangiora) replaces Miss K. Alley (Training College) in the Canterbury women’s representative team. Miss Alley is unable to make the trip to Dunedin. Men’s Fixtures. The Otago Association has advised the secretary of the Canterbury Association that August 27 is acceptable as the date for a match against the Canterbury representatives. The Mid-Canterbury Association has advised that August 27 is a suitable date for senior, colts, junior and primary schools’ teams to visit Ashburton. The North Otago Association has intimated that a representative team will visit Christchurch on August 27 to meet a senior colts' team. West Coast Team. L. Edginton replaces R. Lane in the team to tour the West Coast. The team will leave the White Star garage tomorrow at 8.30 and will play Buller on the Saturday. It will meet Nelson the following Wednesday and Marlborough on the Saturday, returning on Sunday. Junior Trial a«mu.
