RUGBY PARK.
Plan of Grandstand to be Prepared. A sketch plan for a grandstand at Rugby Park, to seat about six hundred people, will be prepared for the Canterbury Rugby Union. The stand will be on the lines of the east stand at Lancaster Park. The matter came up at the meeting of the Management Committee of the union last night. Members stated that the ground was a very serious charge on the union. It cost £9OOO in the first place, and was now costing £6OO or £7OO a year. On the other hand, a new stand would draw more revenue.
